1.0 Build 28

Faster Ship Dispatch, the Portal Waypoint Hub and Circuit Value Ranges

Ship Dispatch

  • Ships now launch one per heartbeat, in a line from each source, instead of waiting on an 8 second retry. Ship Assemblers send each finished ship out right away, so fleets refill faster
  • Ships that lost their station (orphaned ships) re-home first, before any newly built ship, and each one goes to the nearest station or yard with room for it, at any distance

New

  • Portal Waypoint Hub: research Portal Navigation (after Stellar Science) and build the hub beside an activated Ancient Portal so mobile stations can route through that portal. One hub per portal
  • Ship Yards have a new switch, Request ships from assemblers, under Request Specific Units. Turn it off and the yard stops taking new ships from Ship Assemblers but still takes in orphaned ships, so it works as a buffer. It is on by default, and copy, paste and blueprints carry it
  • Circuits can use a value range: "on at 60% or below, held on until 80% or above", on any number a condition reads, so a machine no longer flickers on and off around one value
  • Shield Generators give two new circuit readings: shield power draw (kW) and shield charge (%)

Fixes

  • Fixed: the Station panel's Copy now includes the station's Inserter Bots and Cargo Barges, as a copy box does

Performance

  • Very large builds with hundreds of construction jobs open spend less time each heartbeat assigning construction bots. New placements and pastes still start right away
  • Windows: the game includes its fast code for older processors again, which Build 27 left out
