1.0 Build 24

New Station Controls, Wardens at Defense Platforms and Crash Hunting

Fixes

  • Closing the in-game menu in a multiplayer game no longer switches VSync off and back on in one frame. A Linux client crashed right after that switch. We haven't proven that was the cause; if it still crashes, the report now tells us more
  • A rare Windows crash while the world updates now writes what went wrong into the crash report and closes the game, instead of crashing with no clue. It isn't fixed yet; if it happens to you, please send the report
  • A heat transmitter cools a structure that's already hot, instead of only keeping it from getting hotter
  • A mass driver set to a tile on a station keeps its target when the station lands facing another way, and so do buildings built from ghosts riding the station
  • Gatling Rounds and Advanced Gatling Rounds glow on belts like other ammo
  • Windows' bottom edges have the same padding as their sides, and the red "name not allowed" text is readable
  • The Comet Catcher tooltip says it attaches directly to a Comet Harvester
  • The Oracle voice line plays once per save
  • The commands that skip every objective now need cheats on

Improvements

  • Station controls are a slim column at the bottom left, with a Hide button for the panels
  • Wardens can be requested at a Defense Platform, and a Warden costs 3 Low Density Structure instead of 5 Medium Density Structure
  • Each Oracle you reveal costs 3 more Lumin Orbs than the last: 3, then 6, then 9
  • A new Free Build game starts with 50 Spawner Chests and 50 Trash Cans
  • The Crafting window's Combat tab shows one row per kind of item
  • Clicking a Duplicator artifact opens Station Grid Information

Performance

  • With VSync on and a fixed-refresh screen, uncapped frame rates judder less: the game steps VSync to a steady rate when it can't keep up
