1.0 Build 27

Shadows on Low, a Warning When Your Probe Is Hit and Brighter Ammo on Belts

Graphics

  • Low graphics quality now draws sun shadows from buildings and armor. They are cheap hard-edged shadows, so Low stays light on your GPU
  • Medium graphics quality draws armor blocks with the simpler armor model that Low uses, so big armor walls cost less to draw. High and Ultra keep the detailed armor

Changes

  • When your Von Neumann probe is hit, a thin red glow shows at the edges of the screen, stronger for bigger hits. While its health is at 30% or lower, a faint slow red pulse stays at the edges until it heals. Settings > Interface > Damage Flash turns it off
  • Gatling Rounds on belts now show as four big glowing brass rounds in a crate, so they are easy to tell apart from other items
  • In the crafting grid's Infrastructure tab, the Overdriver and the Circuit Module now sit in the same row as the Blueprint Projector, which leaves room in the power row

Settings

  • Opening Settings with VSync on no longer changes your saved frame rate cap, and changing the graphics quality keeps your VSync choice instead of switching to that quality level's own
